Melanie joins the women's cross country team as one of six freshmen running for the Lady Scots this season. Prior to Covenant, Melanie ran for Easley High School where she helped her team win the region meet and qualify for the Upper State high school meet in South Carolina.
Her parents are Scott (played football at Wheaton College) and Aimee White (cheerleader at Wheaton College). She has three younger sisters: Emilie, Laurelyn, and Noelle. When Melanie is not running, she loves to read, sing in musicals, paint, and spend time with friends. One of her favorite Bible verses in Zephaniah 3:17 which says, "The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."
Melanie is majoring in English and minoring in Education. After graduating from Covenant, she hopes to either be a high school English teacher or become certified in ESL in order to teach English as a second language overseas or in an inner city Spanish community in the states.
