Ruthie is one of six freshman runners representing the Lady Scots cross country team this season. Prior to Covenant, Ruthie ran for Manheim Township High School where she helped her team win the District III Championship (Jr.) and Lancaster Lebanon League Team Championship (Jr., Sr.). She was also honored with the Scholar Athlete Award in her senior year.

Her mom's name is Sharon Cargill. She has an older sister, Hannah, who ran cross country, winter track, and track at Cornell College (IA). Ruthie also has an older brother, Daniel, and younger sister, Esther. When Ruthie is not running, she enjoys attending Bible study, dancing, and being a part of thoughtful conversations with others. Some of her favorite Bible passages are 1 Peter 2:9-10, Psalm 42, and Matthew 9:36-38.

Ruthie is an English major with an Education minor. After graduation, she would like to become a missionary.
