Beth returns to the Covenant this season as a sophomore runner for the Lady Scots. Over her past two seasons, Beth has been a significant contribution to the Lady Scots cross country program. Prior to Covenant, Beth ran for Trinity Christian Academy where she had a first place finish in the state meet her senior season.
Her parents are Don and Kathy Burgess. She has an older sister, Becky; and younger sister, Debbie; and a younger brother, John. When she is not running, Beth enjoy playing ping pong, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and going rock climbing. One of her favorite Bible passages is Hebrews 12:1-3 which says, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
Beth is a Biology (Pre-Med) major. After graduating from Covenant, she would like to continue working toward becoming a pediatrician.
