Anne Charlotte (Strawbridge) Hooper will enter her second year as the full-time assistant coach under head coach Mark Duble in 2017.
"Coaching has always been an aspiration of mine and I am thrilled to be able to assist this women's soccer program," Hooper said at the time of her hiring.
Hooper completed her four-year playing career with the Lady Scots in 2015 and was one of the leaders of the team throughout her career. She was named a team captain in each of her final two seasons and produced strong play as a midfielder. She played in 73 career matches and made 65 starts, while scoring six goals with four assists. Hooper earned Great South All-Conference and All-Freshman team honors in her rookie year in 2012 helping lead the Lady Scots to a GSAC regular season championship.
"I have been involved with the game of soccer for 17 years," Hooper added. "In those 17 years I have seen how the game of soccer can shape character and create discipline. It is an honor to serve this program and walk along side each and every one of these women as students, athletes, and, most importantly, followers of Christ."
"Anne Charlotte adds a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to our ability to coach the midfield well," Duble said. "Her experience playing the position at an All-Conference level, and her positive manner of communication, will be a great addition to the coaching staff."
Hooper also excelled in the classroom at Covenant as she was a three-time USA South All-Academic honoree. In her senior season in 2015, her play in the midfield and hard work in the classroom earned her a spot on the NSCAA Scholar All-South Region third team.
Originally from Ocala, Fla., and a product our of Forest High School, Hooper graduated from Covenant in May of 2016 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Economics and Community Development. She earned a spot on the Covenant Dean's List in seven of her eight semesters and was a two-time member of the Athletic Honor Roll.
She and her husband, Ben, were married in May of 2016 and reside on Lookout Mountain.
