MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- The Covenant women's soccer team extended their dominant shutout streak to three straight matches and Addy Cronan scored the game-winner in the 96th minute to propel the Lady Scots to a thrilling 1-0 win over Transylvania on Saturday night at Mount Berry, Ga.
Covenant (3-0) has not allowed a goal yet this season over three matches and over 275 minutes of game play. The win also gave head coach Mark Duble his 249th career coaching victory as he embarks on milestone number 250. It is also the first time in three tries that Covenant has defeated Transylvania.
A scoreless tie heading to overtime, Cronan put the match away with her unassisted goal in the 96th minute of play. The sophomore has scored in all three matches and leads the team with four goals on the year.
The match saw tremendous defensive effort on both sides. Transylvania (2-1) held a slim 12-11 edge in total shots taken in the match. Kyra Duble had the most shots for the Lady Scots in the game, posting three total.
