|High School:||Delaware County Christian School|
Rachel Bernard or "Bernie" joins the Lady Scots as one of many freshmen who have provided a solid presence in the midfield. While at Delaware County Christian School where she was a team captain in her junior and senior years, Rachel earned several awards: First Team All-League (So., Jr., Sr.), Second Team All-County (So., Jr., Sr.), and Most Valuable Player Award (Sr.).
Her parents are Andrew (played football at Geneva College) and Jane Bernard. She has an older sister, Carissa, and younger brother, Jared. When Rachel is not playing soccer, she enjoys playing lacrosse, baking and decorating cakes, and playing the drums. She has also been heard beatboxing to her teammates; a talent discovered by her team on a bus ride back from a game in her home state. Rachel's favorite Bible passage is Romans 12:1-2 which says, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Rachel is currently undecided about her major, but plans to study something in the sciences. After graduation, she would like to one day be a civil engineer.
