Stephen returns to Covenant this year as one of five sophomore runners for the Scots.

His parents are Lester and Marcie Harper. He has six younger siblings, in order from oldest to youngest: Heather (also attends Covenant), Thomas, Will, Daniel, Jack, and Maggie. When he is not running, Stephen enjoys listening to music, playing the drums, spending time with his girlfriend, and playing video games. One of his favorite Bible passages is Philippians 4:6-7 which says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Stephen is a Psychology major and a Music minor. Following graduation, he plans to coach cross country.
