Men's Tennis Hangs Tough, But Falls at BSC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Covenant men's tennis team hung tough with regionally-ranked Birmingham Southern, but fell to the host Panthers 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Ann Dielen Tennis Complex.

Covenant drops to 1-1 on the year, while Birmingham Southern goes to 2-1 overall.

The Scots took three singles matches to three sets, but could only take one victory. Logan Hull collected the only point for the Scots with his 6-2, 2-6, 10-7 over Birmingham Southern's Anthony Pellegrini at the No. 3 spot. Matthew Harvie and Chris Cox also took their matches to three sets before falling.

Harvie and Cox also fell in a hard-fought match at No. 1 doubles, 8-5, against the Panthers' Pellegrini and Jacob Weinacker. 

UP NEXT

Covenant will host Gadsden State on Friday at 6 p.m. at The McCallie School in Chattanooga. The Scots will then play Division I foe Chattanooga on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Racquet Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
