Jack Belote was named the head golf coach at Covenant in July of 2014. The 2015-16 season will be his second guiding the men's and women's programs.
"I really hope to bring some enthusiasm to the program," said Belote at the time of his hiring. "I love golf and love helping young men and women reach their goals. I want players to walk away better golfers, with winning mind sets, and as responsible men and women."
Belote was a four-year standout at Memphis under head coach Grant Robbins and helped lead the Tigers to their first-ever NCAA Championships appearance as a senior in 2012. Belote was a two-time All-Conference USA performer as he earned second team honors in 2011 and was a first team selection in 2012. He had 24 top 20 finishes in his career and won the 2010 Mason Rudolph Championship.
Off the course, Belote had outstanding success in the classroom as he was a two-time Golf Coaches Association All-America Scholar and a two-time C-USA All-Academic team member. He was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team in 2011 and earned 2012 C-USA Scholar Athlete honors. Belote graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science.
After finishing his playing career, Belote was a student assistant for Robbins in the 2012-13 season. More recently, he has been a clubhouse supervisor and an assistant professional at the Audubon Golf Course in Memphis.
"I want players to understand the importance of course management, while fostering a winning mentality and being competitive in tournaments," added Belote about his goals for the program. "I also want to help the players focus first on Christ and investing eternally."
