FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant men's golf freshman Will Mayfield was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team as the conference announced its postseason awards on Wednesday afternoon.

All awards were voted on by the league's 11 head coaches. Addison Lambeth of Huntingdon was named the conference's Player of the Year, while Greensboro's Grant Powell was the Rookie of the Year. Huntingdon head coach David Schreyer earned Coach of the Year honors.

Mayfield, a freshman from Alpharetta, Ga., has been a key contributor for the Scots this season and helped Covenant qualify for the USA South Tournament. The freshman has an average round of 83.58 and had a season-best 73 in the second round of the Ted Keller Memorial, where he finished tied for 25th overall, back in the fall portion of the season.

Covenant will begin USA South Tournament play on Thursday at the Highland Country Club in LaGrange, Ga. Live stats for the tournament can be found here
