  • Scots Finish 5th in AAC Conference Tournament; Wilkinson Makes All-Tournament Team

    The Scots ended their 2008-2009 season with a 5th place finish in the 9 team field of AAC schools. The Covenant squad could not overcome their poor start and the lack of depth in their lineup.

    The Covenant golf team made quite a name for themselves in Pineville, Kentucky this past Monday and Tuesday as they nearly defeated the entire AAC competition with only 4 players in the 5 player event. The two day event at Wasiota Winds Golf Club ended with three individuals tied for low score, two of which were our Scots, David Spencer and Dave Wilkinson.

    David Spencer and Dave Wilkinson tied for the low round with 73's in the opening final Conference Event for the Scots in Pineville, Kentucky.

    Covenant College hosted the Reeder Cup this past Monday and Tuesday and the word on the course on Tuesday afternoon was, "we will be back".

    Covenant College will host the 2nd Annual Reeder Cup next week, March 30-31, at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club. The Scots will host 17 teams in the two day event, 11 men's teams and 6 women's teams.

    Dave Wilkinson was the tournament medalist at the Creek at Hard Labor State Park in the Scots second tournament of the Spring season.

  • Scots Finish 5th in Birmingham

    The Scots improved on their first day by 18 shots and moved from 7th place in the 10 team event to 5th. The Scots played the collegiate event with 4 players in the standard format of play 5 and count the low 4 scores each round. This meant that the Scots did not have the luxury the other schools had of dropping the highest score each round...all scores counted!

    The Covenant men's golf team was in action for the first round of this week's King College Invitational. Finishing the first round of the 36-hole event in the middle of the pack at sixth of eleven teams, the Scots ended the day 28 strokes behind leader and host King College.

    The Covenant Scots teed off the golf season in Rutledge, Georgia with a 3rd place finish in the men's event that fielded 10 teams. Michael Dinwiddie led all Scots and tied the school 36 hole record of 145.
