Marshall follows siblings, chooses Covenant College

Lookout Mountain, GA- James Marshall, a 6'5" 220 lb forward has selected CovenantCollege to continue his educational and athletic career.  Marshall comes to Covenant from Asheville, NC and follows in the footsteps of his brother Cal '05 and sister Julia '07 who both graduated from Covenant.  Marshall's parents are Calvin and Susan, and he has another brother Sam who attends NC State.

Marshall excelled on the basketball court for his home school team where he averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds (combined stats for junior and senior year).  Marshall tied a team record for most rebounds in a single game with 21 and led the team in blocked shots at 2.5 per contest. He was a well-decorated athlete in high school being named MVP as a junior, and receiving the Foxhole Award and Christian Character (Trailblazer) Award as a senior.

James is an excellent young man who will have a great career here at Covenant.  Having had siblings at Covenant, James understands what it takes to be successful academically, athletically, and in His relationship with Christ.  James is a great basketball player who brings some much needed size to the Scots line-up, and I for one cannot wait to get him on campus in the fall."
