Logan Dahms Set to Transfer to Covenant
Lookout Mountain, GA- Logan Dahms, a 6'2" 200 lb Wing from Bahama, NC will be leaving NC State and transferring to Covenant College. Dahms has assisted Hall of Fame Coach Kay Yow the past two seasons as both a student manager and scout team player for the Wolfpack women's program. Despite traveling with the women's team during their grueling ACC slate, Dahms, a Biology major, has managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA while at State. He has been named to the Dean's List all four semesters, is a member of the University Honors Program, a National Latin Exam Maxima Cum Laude Award winner, and was honored with an invitation to join the prestigious academic honors society- Phi Beta Kappa.
In high school, Dahms led the Durham Flight to a 27-8 record during his senior campaign. He averaged 12.1 ppg while garnering numerous All-Tournament Team honors, including All-Tournament at the NCHAA (National Christian Home School Athletic Association) National Tournament. When he's not studying or playing basketball, Dahms is an avid pilot who has received the Mitchell Award from the Civil Air Patrol, and earned Solo Wings at the CAP National Powered Flight Academy for soloing in a Cessna 172. Logan's parents are Doug and Kay, and he has two younger brothers, Garrett (17) and Joel (11).
"Logan is going to be a great asset to our basketball program for the next two years," said Covenant College coach Kyle Taylor. "I expect him to be a leader from the day he steps on campus in August. Logan has had a ton of great experiences the last two years, learning from one of the best collegiate coaches in the country (men's or women's). He is more slasher than shooter and with his size and strength will compete for quality minutes right away."
After graduation, Dahms plans to attend graduate school for Kinesiology and Exercise Science, and one day hopes to be an NCAA Division I Head Basketball Coach
