Basketball Coaches to Participate in “Coaches vs. Cancer” Weekend

Lookout Mountain, GA- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), in conjunction with the American Cancer Society, has invited teams from across the country to join the 2010 Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers awareness weekend January 29-31.  The NABC is encouraging coaches and their staffs to wear sneakers with their regular game suits at games held that weekend to show support for the Coaches vs. Cancer program.  The coaching staff at Covenant College, as they travel to Bryan College on Saturday, will be one of the many schools in participation as they seek to unite with coaches in the common effort to raise awareness for the fight to save lives from cancer. 

Did you know that at least one-third of cancer deaths could be avoided with a healthy diet and regular exercise?  Just by wearing sneakers, coaches let people know about the fight against cancer and the importance that nutrition and physical activity play in reducing people's risk of the disease.  To learn more about the "Coaches vs. Cancer" initiative or to donate money to the cause, click here.
