Five Scots named All-Conference Honorable Mention
Five Covenant College baseball players were named honorable mentions to the AAC All-Conference Team.
Sophomore catcher Jared Carlson posted a team high batting average of .410 and drove in 27 runs.
Freshman infielder Taylor Oldham hit .380 with a team leading 36 RBI's and had 11 stolen bases to go with his .546 slugging percentage. Taylor was also considered for AAC Freshman of the Year honors.
Junior outfielder Thomas O'Ban hit .320 with 7 stolen bases. Senior designated hitter Sam Hogan hit .314 and accumulated 23 BB's.
Freshman left-handed pitcher Demarius Johnson was dominating most of the year and was considered by many as the best pitching prospect in the conference. Opposing hitters only hit .248 off of him and he had a 1 to 1 strikeout to inning ratio.
Coach Simons is also proud of what they have accomplished, "It's great to see some of our guys having success and two of them are only freshman. I'm excited about the direction our program has been going and the talent we have been attracting. And the best thing is that everyone of these guys would be the first to tell you 'that in all things Christ must be preeminent'."
